COVE Rangers are delighted to confirm the signing of former Motherwell defender Adam Livingstone. The 22-year-old, left back/left wing back, has agreed a two-year deal after leaving the Steelmen at the end of last season. The move to Balmoral Stadium sees Adam reunited with Assistant Manager Gordon Young, who coached Adam during his spell at Fir Park.
Cove Rangers manager Paul Hartley said: “It’s great to have increased the competition for places in an area of the squad that we were already very strong. Adam is a very talented player with good experience of playing at Premiership, Championship and League One level, which was a big attraction to us. Gordon obviously knows him well from their time together at Fir Park, which will help Adam settle in quickly. We are all really looking forward to working with him and are confident Adam will do well for us in the coming season.”
Adam spent a total of 13 years with Motherwell, progressing through their Youth Academy to make his first team debut in a 3-1 Premiership victory over Kilmarnock in May 2017. He spent a spell on loan to East Fife, who were then playing in League Two, the following year, although he also featured in the Motherwell first team on three occasions that season, a 1-1 home draw against Celtic, 2-1 away victory at Hamilton in the Lanarkshire Derby and 1-1 draw with St Mirren at Fir Park. Adam gained Championship experience on loan to Morton during the first half of last season and completed that campaign on loan to League One Clyde.
Adam is the second signing to arrive at Balmoral Stadium in the close season, following in the footsteps of former Wrexham and Peterhead striker Leighton McIntosh. He will wear the number 14 shirt. Everyone at Cove Rangers would like to welcome Adam to the club and wish him well during his time at Balmoral Stadium.
