LIVINGSTONE DELIGHTED TO BE AT BALMORAL

Back to news

ADAM Livingstone says he’s delighted to have been given the opportunity to sign for Cove Rangers. Former Motherwell left-back/left-wing back Adam became our second new arrival when he agreed a deal that will keep him at Balmoral Stadium for at least the next two years.

“I’m excited to join a club that has already underlined its ambitions by winning back to back promotions. Everyone is talking about Cove Rangers at the moment because of how well the club did last season. When the opportunity to join the club came along it was an easy decision to make.

“Even more so when I looked at the Cove squad and saw the quality of the players who were already at the club. It means I face a really tough fight if I’m going to get games but you have to accept that when you join a club that’s as hungry for success as Cove clearly are.”

“I have experience of playing in the Championship (with Morton) and League One (with Clyde) last season so hopefully that will work in my favour, but I won’t be taking anything for granted. I accept I’ve joined a squad full of players who will be determined to show they are good enough to be playing every week.”

Adam left Premiership side Motherwell at the end of last season – after 13 years with the Lanarkshire side  – and has been reunited with some familiar faces at Balmoral Stadium. Assistant manager Gordon Young also coached him at Fir Park while former Motherwell team-mates Broque Watson and Tom Leighton joined us last season.

The 22-year-old said: “I loved working with Gordon before and I’m really looking forward to doing that again. I also called Broque and he told me how much he is loving being at Cove and urged me to grab the chance to join them too. It’s a fantastic opportunity for me after leaving Motherwell. I’m at the stage of my career where I need to be playing more games, so I will be doing all that I can to make that happen with Cove.”
