WE are delighted to officially launch Cove Rangers FC TV.
Fans are currently unable to attend games at Balmoral Stadium, so the new subscription service on offer will give you the opportunity to watch all of our home games in League One in the coming season.
The news comes in the lead-up to this weekend’s Betfred League Cup clash with Hibernian, which will be the first match ever to be screened live from Balmoral Stadium. It will be shown on Premier Sports from 12.30pm on Saturday.
But we are determined to ensure our supporters have the opportunity to watch as many of our games as possible, from the safety of their own homes, while the block on spectators gaining access to football stadiums continues.
The coverage by CRFCTV will give fans – and supporters of the teams we play at Balmoral Stadium – the opportunity to tune into the action.
Chairman Keith Moorhouse said: “The new television channel is the latest in what we believe has been a creative and determined response to the challenges we are facing at the moment.
“Fans not being able to come to games is a nightmare for every club, not just us.
“But we have done our best to remain engaged with the Cove Rangers fan base by updating our website, launching the CRFC Club 1922 fans’ membership scheme and installing a modern paperless system for booking match and season tickets.
“The obvious next step was to give our fans the opportunity to still see our games via our own television channel while the restrictions on fans attending remains in place.
“The upside for the club is any revenue gained from the television subscriptions will help us cope with the heavy burden of having nobody inside Balmoral Stadium, certainly for the first part of the new campaign.
“It’s the duty of directors to work to keep our club in a good place during what has been the most challenging period in our history.
“The launch of the television channel is a huge part of that we can only hope that fans are happy to take up this opportunity to support us while also enjoying the chance to see us play.”
Manager Paul Hartley said: “It’s great that our fans are still going to get the chance to watch our home league games.
“They played a huge part in the success we enjoyed last season and we are really going to miss them when we get back to playing competitive matches.
“The live screenings of our home matches in League One will ease the pain for them a little.
“It will also allow them to underline their love for Cove Rangers because we need their support now more than ever.
“The players will also take motivation from knowing there is an army of Cove Rangers fans sitting in their homes hoping to see them perform well.”
A state-of-the-art camera system has been installed at Balmoral Stadium to provide the highest possible quality coverage of games. We have also made a big off the park signing to make sure viewers receive the best commentary possible from our games – BBC Scotland Radio and television broadcaster Scott Davie.
Kirkcaldy-born Scott has been providing match commentaries for the BBC for more than 25 years, which included travelling to more than 27 countries to cover European ties involving Aberdeen, Dundee United and several other Scottish clubs.
Scott, who also works as a freelance sportswriter for several of Scotland’s national newspapers, said: “I’m honoured to have been chosen by Cove Rangers to help launch this exciting new venture.
“I’m really looking forward to getting down to work and doing my best to make sure the Cove supporters receive added value for their money.”
Our subscription service is due to kick-off when we entertain East Fife on Saturday October 17 in our opening League One fixture. But fans can get a free sneak peak of what our service will be like by watching live coverage of the presentation of last season’s League Two trophy, which is scheduled to take place immediately after this Saturday’s League Cup tie with Hibs.
Chairman Keith added: “Screening the presentation for free is our way of thanking the Cove supporters for the way they got behind us last season.
“We won all 14 of the League Two games played at Balmoral and the support the team received from the stands was a major factor.
“Attendance levels were also way above what we had anticipated, we really can’t thank our supporters and the others who made the effort to come along and back us enough.
“We would obviously have preferred to cap things off in style by celebrating our title win properly with our fans, but that isn’t possible.
“The next best thing was to ensure our fans can at least see the trophy being received by captain Mitch Megginson so that they can share in what is going to be yet another historic day for our club.”
Fans can register to watch the trophy presentation for free at coverangersfc.com.
An Early Bird scheme is offering fans who take up season subscriptions for CRFCTV before October 31 the opportunity to purchase them for just £99. Subscriptions are also available on a game-to-game basis, priced at just £10.
