WE are delighted to confirm the loan signing of Inverurie Locos midfielder Hamish Ritchie.
Hamish, 22, has moved to Balmoral Stadium until January and goes straight into the squad for this afternoon’s League One clash with Partick Thistle.
Cove manager Paul Hartley said: “The loan spell gives us a chance to look at Hamish and offers him the opportunity to see what we are like.
“He was involved in our last couple of training sessions and did very well.
“Hamish was as good as training full-time while studying in America so won’t have a problem slotting into our squad.
“We are grateful Locos have given us the opportunity to work with Hamish and confident he will do well.”
Hamish joined Locos in July after spending four years playing College and University football in the United States of America.
He turned out for Seattle University and New York’s Hartwick College while studying economics in the USA.
Hamish, who was born in Aberdeen but raised in Aboyne, was named joint Freshman of the Year at the end of his first season with Hartwick.
He made 18 appearances and scored three goals for Seattle last season before choosing to return home to Scotland.
Prior to crossing the Atlantic, in 2016, Hamish played for Highland League side Keith, winning three player of the year awards in his final season at Kynoch Park.
Hamish also spent five years as a youth player with Aberdeen. He will wear the number 17 shirt.
Everyone at Cove Rangers would like to welcome Hamish to the club and wish him well during his time at Balmoral Stadium.
