RYAN Strachan has warned there is no room for complacency as we bid to continue our good start in League One when we face Forfar Athletic at Balmoral Stadium tomorrow.
We go into the meeting with the Loons on the back of three straight league wins, 3-1 at home to East Fife, 2-0 away to Peterhead and 1-0 at home to Partick Thistle.
Centre-back Ryan, however, says we will need to maintain the high standards shown in those three games if we want to stay top of the table – and maintain our proud record of never having dropped a point at Balmoral Stadium since stepping up to the SPFL.
Ryan said: “We are delighted to have taken full points so far, particularly with all three games having been played in difficult conditions. It showed a good mentality, team ethic and game management, which is going to be important as we progress into the season.”
“The team spirit we have is also a big part of it, it’s extremely solid. We would do anything for each other, I don’t think I’ve ever been in a happier dressing room.”
“Our bond is so strong every time we cross that line you are thinking ‘let’s do this together and make sure you don’t let your mates down. The boys also know there are times when it’s going to be a case of just knocking your pan in to get the results we want.”
“We have done that so nobody can say the three wins so far weren’t deserved. But we also accept it’s what we do in the next match that matters now.”
“Forfar will be coming here fully aware of how good at record at Balmoral is. They would be delighted to become the first side to upset us here.”
“We have to make sure we maintain high standards in the hope of preventing that.”
