Falkirk Preview: Mitch Megginson

Back to news

CLUB captain Mitch Megginson is “proud” we have secured a top five place in our first season playing at League One level.

Last weekend’s 1-0 victory over Dumbarton guaranteed we will finish in the top half of the table, regardless of what happens in tomorrow’s home tie with Falkirk or Tuesday’s visit to Montrose.

League One splits into top and bottom five’s after Tuesday’s fixtures – which means we will end the campaign in the group of clubs fighting to gain promotion into the Championship.

Mitch said: “ We are right to feel proud about that.

“Despite what some of the pundits were saying in the summer, we knew this campaign would be the toughest many of us have faced in our careers.

“As you can see by the majority of the results in League One, every game is a battle and they are often decided by the narrowest of margins.

“To get to where we are now has taken a lot of hard work.

“I’m pleased it has worked out that we will be in the top half, with an opportunity to maybe even gain promotion, when we face our final four matches after the split.”

You can read the full interview with Mitch tomorrow in the latest edition of UnCOVEred, our free online match programme which is available to accompany CRFC TV’s live coverage of the Falkirk game.

The latest edition also includes an exclusive interview with Steve Tosh, who played for Cove Rangers and Falkirk during a successful career that also included a spell with Aberdeen.

We are also delighted to confirm former Cove Rangers midfielder – and first team coach – Roy McBain will be the co-commentator, alongside Scott Davie, for tomorrow’s live coverage.

Fans are reminded the clash with Falkirk at Balmoral Stadium kicks off at the earlier time of noon to avoid a clash with HRH Prince Philip’s funeral, which is taking place at 3.00pm tomorrow.
