Airdrie Preview | Connor Scully

MIDFIELDER Connor Scully spoke to the media ahead of tonight’s Championship Play-Off Semi-Final, Second Leg, against Airdrieonians at The Penny Cars Stadium, 7.45pm.

The first leg at Balmoral Stadium ended in a 1-1 draw.

Connor said: “We always believed the tie wouldn’t be decided at Balmoral.

“We are obviously disappointed not to have come away with a lead from the first match.

“There were certainly plenty of opportunities for us to score again, I had a few myself, but the ball just wouldn’t sit properly.

“The positive thing is we are still in the tie and showed in the first a game that we are capable of getting at Airdrie and causing them problems.

“We need to rise to the occasion and we have plenty of players who can do that, who are used to having to deliver in the really big games.

“It’s a huge opportunity for us to take a step closer to achieving something that would be amazing for our club.

“I’m often having to pinch myself, being a Cove boy who had only ever played Highland League football until a couple of years ago, to now have the chance to play at Championship level.

“But we are a bit away from that yet.

“We know there is a massive challenge ahead of us in Airdrie, one we must be ready for.”
