Club captain Mitch Megginson spoke to the media ahead of tomorrow’s cinch League One clash against his former club Alloa Athletic at the Indodrill Stadium.
Mitch, who has enjoyed two spells with The Wasps during his career, said: “I really enjoyed my time at Alloa and it’s always nice to go back.
“Paul Hartley was actually their manager when he took me to Alloa on loan from Aberdeen, pretty early on in my career.
“I went back when Jack Ross was boss and played quite a few games before eventually coming back up the road to join Cove.
“It’s a great club with some really good people behind the scenes, so it’s pleasing to see Alloa alongside us in League One this season.
“We managed a narrow win down there in the Scottish Cup last term and we can expect this latest meeting to be just as tight.
“Every game in this league is tough, with the majority decided by the narrowest of margins.
“That’s underlined by the fact we won our last two 1-0, we are just happy to be going to Alloa on the back of a couple of positive results.
“It’s also great we have managed two clean sheets as well, those are vital when games are so closely contested.
“One glance at the league table gives you another reminder of just how evenly matched the sides in League One are.
“Everyone is capable of beating everyone else – but that means there is also a danger you can lose if you aren’t at the very top of your game.
“It’s likely the battle for the top spots will be open right up until the final weeks of the campaign.
“If we want to be involved we are going to have keep picking up points, no matter how we end up doing that.”
