Defender Ryan Strachan and manager Paul Hartley spoke to the media after our 0-0 cinch League 1 draw with Montrose at Links Park.
Ryan said: “We’re just happy to come away with a point.
“The wind made it extremely difficult to play any football and create chances.
“I don’t think we were great today at all, you could maybe factor the conditions into it if you’re being nice, but we didn’t deserve to win the game.
“Defenders were definitely on top, both teams performed well defensively.
“Both teams limited each other to very little chances.
“Clean sheets have been our achilleas heel this year, we’ve conceded a couple more goals than we would have liked.
“We’re an expansive team so sometimes you need to accept that you are going to score plenty of goals but also there’s the risk of conceding at the back, but we like to play attacking football.
“It was good to manage the game well today and keep the clean sheet”
“We’ve got a bit of a local derby next week against Peterhead.
“There’s a couple of ex-players there and friends, but we will be putting that aside for the 90 minutes.
“We will look to get the three points on the board and get back to winning ways, but it will certainly be a tough match.”
Manager Paul Hartley said: “It wasn’t a great game of football.
“It was a game for defenders today, I thought we were really strong at the back.
“We didn’t control the game today or have the quality.
“We had a couple of opportunities, one in the second half and a few flashes in the first half, but overall, I didn’t think it was a great advert for football.
“The wind made a difference but you’ve still got to trust your teammates and be brave on the ball.
“We had the wind with us in the second half so we should have passed it about a bit better and play our regular style of football.
“It wasn’t a great game, but the good thing is we didn’t get beat and we kept a clean sheet.
“We’ve set high standards, we know Montrose are a good team.
“We spoke about trying to be more compact and tighter away from home, and we certainly did that today.
“It’s an interesting league, some of the results today highlight that.
“It will be like this from now until the end of the season.
“We’ve just got to keep working hard.”
