Falkirk Preview | Blair Yule

Back to news

Midfielder Blair Yule spoke to the media ahead of tomorrow’s cinch League One visit to Falkirk.

He said: “We know we have to expect another tough game because you get that every week in this league.

“Falkirk’s result last weekend was a bit of a freak one, it’s very rare in this division because the majority of the games are very tight.

“But you can be sure they will be eager to bounce back, especially now that they have a new manager in place too.

“They will be hungry to show him they can play their part over the rest of the season.

“It means we know we have to go down there and play at our best if we want to come away with a favourable result.

“We are at the top of the table at the moment, but we only need to look back as far as last season for a reminder of how quickly things can change if you don’t maintain high standards.

“We were in a good position several times during that campaign, but where we finished wasn’t where we wanted to be.

“We have to learn from that and ensure we do all that we possibly can to avoid any disappointment again.”

Blair is pleased we are going into the game on the back of an impressive 3-0 victory away to Championship side Queen of the South, on Tuesday, that earned an exciting Scottish Cup fourth clash with Hibernian at Easter Road in January.

Blair said: “I enjoyed the game, I think all of us did, we played really well as a team.

“When you come up against teams in the division above you, you see it as a challenge.

“That’s a level where we would love to be, hopefully in the near future, so you want to show you can compete.

“It’s also good to get a gauge of where we are in our development as a team, so it was pleasing to come away with a victory.

“It’s exciting for us and the club to have such a big draw in the next round.

“We won’t let it go to our heads though, we are simply not that type of team.

“We know we played well and pleased to have secured the tie against Hibs – but as soon as the final whistle went our minds were already on to the next match.”
