Defender Morgyn Neill says manager Paul Hartley and his coaching staff deserve some of the credit for our crucial 2-0 cinch League One victory over Falkirk last weekend.
Goals from Mitch Megginson and Fraser Fyvie ensured we overcame the full-time Bairns ahead of this Saturday’s league visit to Alloa Athletic.
After the match, manager Paul praised the players for the quality of their performance against his former club.
Morgyn, however, believes the three points might not have been claimed were it not for the tireless effort made by the first team coaching staff to ensure they were fully briefed about what to expect from The Bairns.
Morgyn said: “We were only able to dominate the game as well as we did because we knew what Falkirk would try to do against us.
“The coaching staff provided us with some excellent video analysis of their last few games.
“They had brought in a new manager and changed their formation during that time, but we were told the one they would most likely use against us, and the information was spot on.
“The formation Falkirk went with meant they sat in a bit deeper against us, but we were ready for that and I feel we managed to dominate them from the first whistle.
“That’s because every single one of us knew the job they had to do before going out.
“It’s the same for every game, the effort the coaching staff put in is just incredible.
“We are officially a part-time club, but everything is done as if we were full-time, in a highly professional manner.
“Everybody knows how ambitious the club is, so that won’t come as any surprise.
“We have very talented people who know what their roles are and do everything to help us be as well prepared as we possibly can be for games.
“It’s obviously led by the manager, Gordon Young, Tam Ritchie and the physios – but there is a whole team of people behind the scenes who deserve a share of the credit for any wins we get.”
We had drawn the three league games prior to the Falkirk one, so Morgyn is delighted to have that winning feeling once again.
“It was crucial to start picking up three points instead of one again because we are heading into the toughest part of the campaign,” he said.
“We aren’t worried about Airdrie, Montrose or anyone else, we know how things go will be down to what we do ourselves.
“If we keep standards high and keep winning it will pile the pressure back on the teams around us, but it’s going to take a lot of hard work.”
