Midfielder Fraser Fyvie spoke to the media ahead of tomorrow’s cinch League One meeting with Airdrieonians at the Excelsior Stadium.
Fraser said: “It’s a clash between the two form sides in the division, so it should be an excellent game.
“Both of us will be going for the three points, because it’s what Airdrie and ourselves always do.
“It will take a top level performance from us to come out on top.
“All we can do is go out there, give it our best and see where we stand after the 90 minutes.”
Fraser praised Airdrieonians for announcing they have slashed ticket prices in the hope of attracting a bumper crowd to the game.
Adults will pay £10 and concessions £5 for tickets pre-purchased online.
Fraser said: “Fair play to them for doing that, more clubs should look to do the same, especially after the couple of years we have just come through.
“The more fans who are there the better the atmosphere and players always prefer it like that.
“It’s good that the offer is open to the Cove Rangers fans as well, they have been great on the road all season.
“How good they have actually been has surprised me a bit.
“They maybe aren’t big on numbers on occasion, but they always make themselves heard and I’m sure that will the case again this weekend.”
Fraser is also pleased to be going into the match on the back of scoring his 10th goal of the season, in last weekend’s 2-1 victory over Montrose at Links Park.
“That’s more than I had scored before in my entire career, never mind a single season, so I’m very happy with that.
“Prior to this campaign I had always played as more of a holding midfielder, so was never up at the other end of the park.
“But since we signed Iain Vigurs in the summer the manager has kept encouraging me to play a more attacking role and it seems to be paying off.
“It comes with the challenge of making sure you make the right runs to support the strikers or get into the box to get on the end of crosses, which is what happened at Montrose.
“To have 10 already is way beyond what I could have expected, but it’s important the rest of us make a contribution because it would be unfair of us to expect Mitch (Megginson) and Rory (McAllister) to be the ones delivering the goals every week.”
