Falkirk Reaction | The Manager & Scott Ross

Back to news

Manager Paul Hartley and defender Scott Ross spoke to the media after our 2-0 cinch League One victory over Falkirk at the Falkirk Stadium.

Left-back Harry Milne scored twice in the second half to secure the win and send us five points clear of second placed Airdrieonians, with three games to play.

Paul said: “It was a really strong performance.

“We spoke to the players at half-time about being patient and we went on to score two really good goals.

“It meant a pleasing end to what has been a very difficult four weeks, with four challenging away games.

“We are back at home for the next one (against Alloa Athletic this coming Saturday) but are taking nothing for granted.

“We are in a good position, but I’ve been involved in this as a player and a manager before and know you cannot get carried away.

“Alloa is the next big game for us and the players know they are going to have to be at their best to take anything from that one.”

Scott praised fellow defender Harry for coming up with the goals in the absence of our two top scorers, skipper Mitch Megginson and veteran Rory McAllister.

Mitch, who has scored 21 times this season, missed the game through injury.

Rory’s hopes of adding to the 19 he has scored so far were dashed when he went off injured after just nine minutes.

Scott said: “We needed someone else to make up for their absence and deliver the goals and it was no surprise that ended up being Harry.

“He is an unbelievable talent, who worked tirelessly during his 70 minutes or so on the pitch.

“He powered up and down the park, defending when needed and causing them problems with his runs into the back of their defence.

“It was great to see his efforts rewarded with the two goals.

“The second was a great finish but, as a defender, I’m sure he would have been happier with the header for the first one.

“Harry timed his run perfectly then beat a guy three or four inches taller than him in the air to direct his header into the corner.

“It was a brilliant finish.”

Fans are reminded ticket prices for the Alloa game have been slashed to £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.

Let’s pack out Balmoral Stadium and help the manager and players in their bid to end the season strongly.
