We are delighted to confirm Paul Hartley has been named the Glen’s Vodka League One Manager of the month for April.
It’s the fourth time in season 2021-22 Paul has picked up the top boss award for the division.
He has been recognised for a magical month that saw us clinch the League One title and secure promotion to the Championship while remaining unbeaten.
Paul said: “This one is special because it is recognition of us having a strong final month, which we knew would be needed if we were to see off the challenge of Airdrie and win the league.”
We kicked off what proved to be an ace April for the club with a last-gasp strike from Leighton McIntosh securing a 1-1 draw against Queen’s Park at Firhill Stadium.
Next up was a 2-0 victory away to Falkirk, thanks to a double from left-back Harry Milne.
That was followed by a 3-0 home win over Alloa Athletic, with Harry Milne again on target, adding to a double from midfielder Fraser Fyvie.
The title was clinched when Mitch Megginson netted the only goal against Dumbarton at Balmoral Stadium.
We brought the curtain down on an outstanding season by making it 26 league games without defeat as we fought back from 2-0 down to defeat East Fife 3-2 away, with a double from Mitch Megginson and a Mark Reynolds header doing the damage.
Paul said: “The way we performed in April was a fine way to finish off what was an incredible season for us.
“It was achieved because of the hard work everyone put in right throughout the campaign.
“I would like to thank my staff and everyone else working behind the scenes, who all made important contributions to ensure we won the league and secured promotion.
“But the biggest thanks of all must go to the players, they were simply magnificent, from the first game to the last.”
Everyone at Cove Rangers would like to congratulate Paul for picking up this latest award and thank him for his outstanding leadership throughout the campaign.
