Back to news

Cove Rangers would like to extend congratulations to north-east businessman, and loyal supporter of the club, Jim Milne, following the award of a knighthood in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Sir James, the founder and chairman of Balmoral Group, has previously been recognised for his services to industry and charity.

He provided advice and investment when the club was building the new stadium and is a regular attendee at matches at Balmoral Stadium.

Cove chairman Keith Moorhouse is delighted with the news, “I am overjoyed for Jimmy, and I know how much this recognition will mean to him personally. He is such a humble man, understated in the way he conducts himself, but he has been incredibly successful in business, and has helped so many charities and organisations along the way. As a near neighbour of the club, he has been a wonderful partner for Cove Rangers, and we look forward to working closely with him in the future. This latest award is richly deserved”.
