Banks O’Dee friendly cancelled

Back to news

The club regrets to inform supporters that the pre-season warm up encounter with Banks O’Dee has been called off.

The game was due to take place on Tuesday, June 28th at Balmoral Stadium.

It had been arranged by the previous management team, but having only recently joined the club, new boss Jim McIntyre feels the time will be more effectively spent working with the squad, and getting to know the players better.

Jim had his first training session on Tuesday night and expressed his delight at the response he got from his new charges. He believes another week of preparation will be more beneficial in the long run.

The team will now have three friendlies ahead of the kick-off to the Premier Sports Cup. Saturday’s meeting with Dunfermline – the testimonial match for club legend Stuart McKenzie – will be followed by a home match against Gala Fairydean on Saturday, July 2nd, and a trip to McDiarmid Park to take on St Johnstone on Saturday, July 9th.
