Longridge Is Signing Number Ten

Back to news

The club is delighted to announce the signing of experienced left-back Jackson Longridge. The twenty-seven year old defender joins us on loan from Livingston until the end of the season.

Having already used the five temporary transfers available, a space had to be freed-up, which was achieved when Hibernian agreed for Kyle McClelland to return from his loan spell with us.

There was a race against time last night to push the deals through, which thanks to the help of both clubs, the SPFL and the Scottish FA, we were able to complete at 11.30pm.

Jackson began his career with Ayr United, and also played for Stranraer and Dunfermline, where he teamed up with his brother Louis. Having had a couple of seasons down south, he joined Livingston in the summer of 2020, his second time at the West Lothian side.

Jackson will wear the number twenty shirt and we look forward to welcoming him to Balmoral Stadium.

We would like to extend our best wishes to Kyle for his future career and thank him for all his efforts during his time with the club.

Strenuous attempts were made throughout the transfer window, right up until last night’s deadline, to further strengthen our front line, but we were continually frustrated in our efforts to do so.

We were also close to securing a midfielder yesterday, but again, that fell through at the last minute, so there will be no further additions to the squad.
