Connor Comes Out On Top

Back to news

Connor Scully swept the boards in the voting for the 2022/23 Cove Rangers End of Season Awards.

The popular midfielder came out on top in the club, players and fans Player of the Year voting, and also scooped the Goal of the Season honour for his sensational overhead kick in the win over Dundee last October.

Connor featured in forty-two matches last season, easily the highest figure in the squad, and missed just one game through injury, the defeat to Dundee at the start of March.

He collected his trophies when the players returned to training at the weekend and reflected on the campaign:

“Obviously it was a disappointing end, and we gave everything we had to stay in the Championship, but we fell just short. That was the most important thing, but it is nice to have been recognised for my efforts, and I would like to thank everyone who voted for me.

“It’s great to be back with the boys now and we’re all looking forward to having a much more successful campaign this time round.”

The Young Player of the Year award went to Luis Longstaff, his trophy will be delivered to him.

Luis was offered a new contract with Cove Rangers, but has chosen to return to England, and we all wish him well in his future career.
