Tyler Mykyta Is Latest Capture

Back to news

We are delighted to announce the signing of Tyler Mykyta on a two-year full-time contract.

Tyler came through the youth ranks at Aberdeen FC and enjoyed loan spells with both Elgin City and Formartine United, before joining the Highland League side in 2022.

The twenty-year old left-sided midfielder has been training with the squad in recent weeks and caught the eye as a trialist against Peterhead in midweek when he put in some excellent crosses and scored a delightful equaliser. He made a further appearance against Dundee at the weekend.

Paul Hartley believes he will be an important addition:

“He’s technically very good, brings quality and has a great left foot and can make things happen. We will need to get him properly up to speed as he readjusts to the full-time environment, but I think we have a good player on our hands and he gives us options across the front line.

“He caught the eye last midweek, scored a goal of course, and he fits the profile I’ve been looking at; young, enthusiastic, full of energy, and having been given a second chance at full-time football I know he’s desperate to take it.”

Tyler will be in the squad for tonight’s opening Viaplay Cup encounter at home to Clyde.
