We can announce that teenage striker Myles Gaffney is joining Inverurie Locos on loan for the 2023/24 season.
The nineteen year old was one of four youngsters signed this summer, along with Milosz Ochmanski, Mikey Milnes and Jack Robertson, and has been in full-time training with Cove since the squad returned after close season.
Myles has been in the matchday squad in the early part of the campaign and has already made two substitute appearances, and manager Paul Hartley says this is an important part of his development:
“It’s a great opportunity for him to go and play at a good level. Myles will still be with us on a daily basis, but he needs game time and I would expect him to get plenty of that in the coming months. The Highland League is tough, it’s competitive, and it will be a learning curve for him, but this is a move which will make him a stronger, better player.
“I will go along and watch him when I can and I’m sure he can make a big impact there.”
Myles will be in line for his Inverurie debut at the weekend when Locos make the trip to face Rothes.
