Kelty Post-Match Thoughts | The Manager

Back to news

The manager expressed his delight following our 1-0 victory over Kelty Hearts at New Central Park yesterday afternoon.

The side came flying out the traps with Rumarn Burrell netting in the 18th minute to take his tally to eight for the season. Kelty increased the pressure in the second half, but despite this, the team kept solid at the back, and were able to see the game out to extend their unbeaten record and move up to third.

Paul Hartley said: “We saw a different side to the team again. We started well, dominated possession, and scored a great goal early on in the game.

“In the second half Kelty put a bit more pressure on us, but I felt we were comfortable, and we knew we could counter and hurt them with the pace we have in the team.

“We defended really well as a unit. We didn’t want to concede any goals, and we managed to do that. That’s the third game in a row we have kept a clean sheet, and also the third 1-0 win on the bounce.

“Our final ball and decision making could be a bit better, but at the end of the day you get the same amount of points for a 1-0 win, so overall I’m pleased.”
