Fans are being urged to get into the festive spirit and come along to this weekend’s encounter with Alloa Athletic in Christmas fancy dress.
In recent seasons, the supporters club have done just that for games around December 25th, adding fun and colour to the occasion, and also raising considerable sums for charity.
Last year, our brilliant fans came along in their festive outfits and did a bucket collection for our partner charity, Friends of ANCHOR, which raised a remarkable £1,085. They are determined to beat that superb total this year!
Manager Paul Hartley says he’s looking forward to seeing the supporters all dressed up:
“Our fans are amazing, so loyal, and this is an incredible gesture. Obviously, my main focus will be on the match, but I’ll be looking out for them, and I’m sure they’ll raise lots of money for a very worthwhile cause.
“The Cove supporters go above and beyond on behalf of the club, and I want them to know their efforts are appreciated by all of us. I hope everyone backs them on the day and gives what they can for what is a wonderful charity.”
Look out for our Santas and snowmen outside the ground before kick-off, and thereafter inside the stadium, and feel free to be as festive as you wish!
