Rumarn In Running For Player Of The Year

Back to news

Rumarn Burrell’s prolific season has been recognised by his peers with the striker included in the four man shortlist for the League One player of the year award. The news follows his inclusion in the divisional team of the season, the only non-Falkirk player to be voted in.

The twenty-three year old, who was selected as player of the month in both November and December, is among the top scorers across the SPFL having netted twenty-one league goals and twenty-four overall.

Rumarn says he is thrilled to have been selected:

“I was over the moon to receive one of the spots in the team of the year, and it’s great to have been nominated for this award. It’s very gratifying that players from other teams have seen what I’ve been able to do this season, that so many other boys voted for me.

“At the start of the season I set myself a target of twenty goals, and I’ve gone above that, with hopefully more to come, that’s the aim. I would also like to thank my team-mates, who have been brilliant, and I couldn’t have achieved what I have without them.”

The nominations were announced in Glasgow a short time ago with Rumarn up against the Falkirk trio of Brad Spencer, Calvin Miller and Callumn Morrison.

The winner will be announced at the PFA Scotland annual dinner next month.
