Adam Emslie Excited For Cove Opportunity

Back to news

Paul Hartley today made a double-signing swoop with deals concluded to bring two promising Dons youngsters to Balmoral Stadium.

Midfielder Findlay Marshall joins Cove having impressed during the second half of last season with Edinburgh City, while winger Adam Emslie had an equally productive spell in the Highland League with Formartine United.

The manager says Adam caught his attention during that loan period, and he believes he will be a valuable addition to the side:

“Adam is a good ball-carrier, has pace, can play off either side, is right-footed although he tends to come in off the left, and he will take us up the park. He had an impressive spell with Formartine last year, played a lot of games and scored plenty goals, and he can certainly enhance our team.

“He will be a very good signing for us, a young player, very energetic, and he will have benefited from his time in the Highland League. That gave him plenty game-time, I know Formartine were very impressed with Adam, and this will give him the opportunity to kick-on at a higher level.”

Adam is looking forward to doing just that:

“Of course, I know it’s two steps up from the Highland League, but I think I’m ready and I’m hopeful it will all work out for me. It was a difficult league to play in, but a good experience, and it will definitely help me for this season at Cove.

“This is all about getting as much game time as I can and kicking-on from here.

“It helps that it’s close to home, I can be with both Cove and Aberdeen through the week, which will be a plus.”

So, what can the fans expect to see from Adam in the coming months?

“I do love the one-to-ones, getting down the line and putting the crosses in and making assists, and also cutting-in and getting the shots away. I really enjoy the attacking side of the game, that’s the best part of it, and hopefully I can get a few goals too.”

The winger will wear shirt number twenty-two this season.

We would like to thank Aberdeen FC for their support in securing Adam’s services.
