We are delighted to announce the signing of Liam Parker on loan from St Johnstone for the 2024-25 campaign.
The twenty year old central defender had a short spell with East Fife in 22/23, then spent the second half of last season with Edinburgh City, where he was an ever-present.
He signed a new contract with Saints in the summer, and sees this move as the ideal next step in his career:
“I think this is going to be a really good challenge. I’m looking to kick-on and improve as a player, I do think last season at Edinburgh helped me mature, and it means I know League One and how tough it is going to be.
“I know a few of the boys here, and I played with Findlay Marshall last year, so I think I’ll settle in fine, and all my focus will be on helping Cove try to get promotion. I played every match for Edinburgh after I went there, and I’m hoping to get as many games as I can here.”
Liam is a player Paul Hartley has been monitoring for some time, and he is delighted to welcome him aboard:
“He has experience of the league with Edinburgh City, and he impressed us when we came up against him last season. He has good presence, is left-sided, and he adds good balance to the team.
“Knowing League One will help him, but he’s young and needs more games, and this will be a good move for him. It will be up to Liam; when he gets into the team, like all the players, he needs to perform, which I fully expect him to.”
Liam will wear the number thirty-two shirt this season.
We would like to thank St Johnstone for their help in securing his services.
