We are delighted to announce the appointment of highly-regarded football administrator Martin Johnston as the club’s new Head of Commercial and Operations.

Martin joins Cove Rangers following a spell at Montrose, a period as an SPFL match delegate, and a six-year stint as General Manager at Peterhead FC. He moved into administration after many seasons as a senior referee and brings with him a wealth of experience and contacts within the game.

He knows the club well, and says he has plans which he believes can help us build on the successes of recent years:

“I am really excited by this move and fully intend to embrace the new challenge. There are many similarities between Cove and the clubs I have previously worked with, and I would hope to put to good use the experiences I gained there.

“I have known Keith for a long time, he and the board have made me very welcome, and we share a similar vision. Now, it’s all about getting my sleeves rolled-up and starting work.”

Chairman Keith Moorhouse is delighted to have secured the services of such a skilled and experienced operator:

“The commercial side of the game is important for all clubs, but particularly at our level, and Martin knows and understands that. He brings new ideas, a fresh approach, and will I am sure play a major role in helping Cove Rangers continue to grow and flourish in the coming years.

“I look forward to working with him and I am excited by his plans for the future.”
