Having reached the Fifth Round of the Scottish Cup for the second successive season, we go into this evening’s draw the only side from outwith the top two divisions.
It is just the third time Cove Rangers have gone so far into the competition – we also reached the last sixteen in 2018 – and with some of the big guns still involved, there is the chance of a glamour money-spinning tie next month.
We have never previously met Aberdeen, Celtic, St Mirren or St Johnstone in a competitive game, nor Dundee United, who still have the chance to go through tonight. The other Premiership teams in the mix are Hearts, Hibernian and Rangers.
There are also seven Championship sides who will go into the draw: Airdrieonians, Ayr United, Dunfermline, Hamilton, Livingston, Queen’s Park and Raith Rovers.
We will have news of the outcome here on the website and on the Cove Rangers FC social media channels following the Dundee derby.
