Hartley: Tough Draw But We Will Be Ready

Back to news

Last night’s draw matched us with a team we know well, the side now having to overcome a trip to West Lothian if they are to reach the quarter-finals of this season’s Scottish Cup.

We have played Livingston in the League Cup for the last three years at Balmoral Stadium, Livi racking up victories in each, but this will be Cove Rangers’ first ever visit to Almondvale.

Paul Hartley acknowledges it will be a challenge, but it is one he says the players will be well prepared for:

“We would have loved to have been at home, that’s what you always look for, so we know it will be a difficult game against what is a strong Livingston side. David Martindale has them challenging at the top of the Championship, which I expected, and they are an experienced outfit.

“I’ve been at the stadium enough in the past to know it can be a difficult venue, but we have to go there and be positive. We will watch them over the next couple of weeks, and when the tie comes round, we will be ready for it.

“There’s no pressure on us, everyone will expect Livi to win.”

Ticket information will be published in due course.
