As part of Cove Rangers’ continued desire to establish strong roots in the local community, we are delighted to announce the strengthening of our partnership with Cove Youth FC and a new collaboration with Portlethen Sports Club.
Youngsters from both organisations will be given the chance to play in small-sided games at half-time on home matchdays at Balmoral Stadium, with the older age groups operating as ball boys and ball girls.
In addition to those experiences, Cove Rangers community development manager, Mark Robb, will offer support, dedicated coaching sessions, and training camps.
These initiatives will benefit hundreds of local children, helping to give them a structured pathway as they look to improve, develop their game, and hone their skills.
Cove Rangers Director of Football, John Sheran, says he is delighted with these programmes, and hopes more will be rolled out in the future:
“We are immensely proud of our place at the heart of the community, and projects like this further strengthen that.
“We are always looking for new ways to offer more help to clubs in the area, and there will be other exciting announcements to come.”
Cove Rangers chairman, Keith Moorhouse, sees this as an important area for the club going forward:
“It really is a great initiative which adds to the ongoing work being done by the Cove Rangers Community Foundation in association with the local schools at Lochside and Portlethen.
“Our aim is to make the club an even bigger part of the community, and schemes like these will go a long way towards achieving that.”
