The end of season awards were handed out in the Balmoral Lounge this evening, with the prizes being shared across the squad, a reflection of the team effort over the whole of the campaign.
The online PLAYER OF THE YEAR, voted for by fans through the website went to RYAN HARRINGTON, an ever-present all season long, while GOAL OF THE YEAR, another online poll, was claimed by FINDLAY MARSHALL for his outstanding late effort which rescued a valuable point against Montrose in February.
YOUNG PLAYER OF THE YEAR was voted for by the players, management and staff, and the poll ended in a tie, the honour shared by ADAM EMSLIE and DYLAN LOBBAN.
The PLAYERS PLAYER award went to the ever-popular BLAIR YULE while the CLUB PLAYER OF THE YEAR, in an extremely close contest, was claimed by NICK SUMAN.
In addition, there were special awards to mark the achievements of two men who have made a massive contribution to the success Cove Rangers have enjoyed in recent years.
MITCH MEGGINSON was recognised for having hit a couple of centuries this season; 100 career goals in the Scottish League and 100 for Cove since we joined the SPFL.
There was also an award for PAUL HARTLEY who last December celebrated not only his 200th game in charge of the club, but also his 500th in football management.
Congratulations to all our worthy winners!
