The SPFL has today confirmed that the fixture launch for the inaugural league phase of the 2025/26 KDM Evolution Trophy will take place on Thursday July 17th at 1.00pm.
The draw will be broadcast on the SPFL YouTube channel.
As previously announced, the revamped KDM Evolution Trophy – known to fans as the Challenge Cup – will involve an opening round league phase comprising of the ten William Hill League One clubs (including Cove Rangers), the ten William Hill League Two clubs and ten William Hill Premiership B teams.
Each team will play six league phase matches on a broadly regionalised basis, with the top twenty-two progressing to the knock-out stage, where they will be joined by the ten William Hill Championship clubs.
The competition will kick off on the midweek of August 12/13th, with the league phase concluding on Tuesday November 11th. Dates as follows…
MD1: Midweek of August 12/13th, 2025
MD2: Midweek of August 26/27th, 2025
MD3: Weekend of September 6/7th, 2025
MD4: Midweek of September 23rd/24th, 2025
MD5: Weekend of October 11/12th, 2025
MD6: Tuesday November 11th, 2025
The round of thirty-two will be on the midweek of December 9/10th, the round of sixteen on January 6/7th next year, and the quarter-finals on January 27/28th. The semi-finals are scheduled for February 24/25th and the final on March 28/29th or April 4/5th.
