We are delighted to announce the signing of defender Mark Souter on a one-year deal.
The experienced centre-back arrives at Balmoral Stadium after spending his entire career with Locos, where he established himself as one of the Highland League’s most consistent performers. Having made more than 300 appearances for the club, Souter leaves Harlaw Park as a highly respected figure both on and off the pitch.
A commanding presence in defence, the 31-year-old brings leadership and experience as Paul Hartley continues to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.

Manager Paul Hartley said:
“We are delighted to get Mark in the door. He is not only a solid, commanding defender, but also a real leader.
“To make over 300 appearances for one club shows real consistency, commitment and professionalism. Those are qualities we value highly and qualities that Mark has shown throughout his career.
“He’s a defender who reads the game well, is strong in the air and brings organisation to the back line. He has a wealth of experience and understands what it takes to compete week in, week out.
“He also has the right character for this environment. He’s hungry for a new challenge and eager to test himself at a higher level. We believe he’ll be a great addition to the squad and we’re looking forward to working with him.”
Everyone at Cove Rangers would like to welcome Mark to the club and wish him every success during his time at Balmoral Stadium.
