Contract Extensions For Four Players Confirmed

Back to news

WE are delighted to confirm four of our first team squad have agreed new two year contracts with the club.

Goalkeeper Stuart McKenzie and midfield trio Fraser Fyvie, Blair Yule and Connor Scully have penned deals that will keep them at Balmoral Stadium until at least the end of season 2022/23.

Manager Paul Hartley said: “It’s a huge boost to see all four players commit their futures to us.

“Stuart has played in every game since the club made the step up to the SPFL and proved last season he is among the best goalkeepers in the lower divisions.

“It’s also great to see someone of Fraser’s experience and ability choosing to remain with us.

“Connor and Blair  earned their new deals with a string of excellent displays since the club stepped up from the Highland League.

“I would also like to the thank the directors for the efforts they made to ensure we could get the deals done during what has been a tough period for every football club.”

Former Aberdeen, Wigan Athletic, Hibernian and Dundee United player Fraser, 28, joined us in August 2019, just ahead of our first season as an SPFL club.

Stuart, 33, first joined us in 2007 and spent a couple of seasons with Montrose before rejoining Cove in 2015.

He has played every minute of every match since we made the step up to SPFL level.

Connor and Blair – who are both aged 28 – came through the youth system at Cove to play for us in the Highland League and in our last two campaigns in the SPFL.

Blair, son of former Cove Rangers midfielder Raymond, also spent a season with Arbroath, but has been back with us since 2018.
