Robertson Joins On Loan

We are delighted to confirm the signing of Dundee midfielder Finlay Robertson.

The 18-year-old, who has joined us on loan from the Dark Blues until January, goes straight into the squad for Saturday’s cinch League One meeting with Airdrie at Balmoral Stadium.

Manager Paul Hartley said: “I would like to thank Dundee and manager James McPake for allow us to work with Finlay.

“He was already in the Dundee Academy when I was the manager at Dens Park and is a player I have always kept an eye on.

“Finlay has excellent experience of playing at Championship and Premiership level for a player of such a young age.

“He is a versatile midfielder, capable of performing in a variety of roles, so will increase the competition for starting places, which is something every manager wants.”

Dundonian Finlay has been with the Dark Blues since the age of 11.

He made his Premiership debut for Dundee, aged just 16, against St Mirren on the final day of season 2018-19.

Finlay was added to Dundee’s first team squad for the following season and received several man-of-the-match awards and made 21 appearances for the club, who were then in the Championship.

He was also voted Dundee’s young player of the year for that campaign, picking up the prestigious Isobel Sneddon Award.

His excellent form also saw Finlay rewarded with a new contract, until the summer of 2023.

Capped twice for Scotland at Under-19 level, Finlay has featured six times for Dundee this season, including starting their Premiership opener, when they drew 2-2 at home to St Mirren.

Everyone at Cove Rangers would like to welcome Finlay to the club and wish him well during his time at Balmoral Stadium.
