We are delighted to confirm the Fan Zone at Balmoral Stadium will reopen for our cinch League One clash with Clyde this coming Saturday.
It will be the first time supporters have been able to gain access since March 7, 2020, when we beat Brechin City 3-2 in League Two.
That was our last League Two fixture at Balmoral Stadium before all football was suspended because of the Covid pandemic.
All fans were then denied access to Balmoral Stadium last season in line with the Covid regulations.
When they finally returned to our home games this term, the Fan Zone was still off limits because visiting sides were using it as a changing room.
But the doors will finally open again from noon on Saturday so that Cove Rangers fans – and those of our opponents – can enjoy a few beers and refreshments in the lead-up to the 3pm kick-off.
Cove Rangers chairman Keith Moorhouse said: “Everyone at the club is looking forward to seeing supporters back in the Fan Zone.
“It was built to enhance the match-day experience for them and our staff have been working hard this week to make sure the Fan Zone is ready to welcome them back.”
Ian McIntosh, secretary and treasurer of the official CRFC Supporter’s Club, said: “I’m absolutely delighted.
“We have all really missed being able to go to the Fan Zone to enjoy a few drinks and a bit of banter.
“It will also be great to have the opportunity to chat with the supporters from our rivals and create new friendships.”
The Fan Zone will be open from Noon until just before kick-off and reopen after the match.
Entry is free.
