Paul Hartley has stepped up his pre-season preparations with four warm-up matches scheduled ahead of the Premier Sports Cup opener against Albion Rovers.
Our first outing of the summer will be a home game against newly relegated Dunfermline on Saturday, June 25th. The Pars lost out in the play-offs to Queen’s Park, dropping down to League One, and will be under new management following the appointment of James McPake.
Three days later, SJFA North Superleague champions Banks O’Dee will make the short trip to Balmoral Stadium as they ready themselves for a first tilt at the Highland League.
On July 2nd, Gala Fairydean Rovers will be our visitors. The borders team finished 13th in last season’s Lowland League and are managed by Cove old-boy Martin ‘Jimmy’ Scott.
The final match will take place the following Saturday against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park. Both sides have a free afternoon following the Cup draw earlier this week. Saints narrowly preserved their Premiership status after a disappointing campaign, but will provide a stiff test before the competitive action gets underway.
Ticket prices and further match details will be announced in due course.
