Mitch Makes It Awards Double

Back to news

Hot on the heels of Paul Hartley picking up the manager’s award, Mitch Megginson has made it a double celebration for the club, having been named as the William Hill SPFL League One player of the month for October.

As well as leading the line superbly during our recent impressive run of results, Mitch scored against both Queen of the South and Montrose, and was also on target last weekend against Dumbarton as November kicked-in.

The goal at Links Park was his 100th in Scottish League football, and 220th all told for Cove Rangers, ninety-three of which have come since we gained promotion to the SPFL.

With six goals in just nine starts this season, the striker is on a hot streak right now, and while delighted to accept his latest award, is keen to pay tribute to both his team-mates and the staff at the club:

“It’s always nice to get this kind of recognition, and of course you get the headlines if you’re the one scoring the goals, but the rest of the boys have been brilliant, and we all want to keep the run going.

“I am delighted to accept the award, but my main focus is to keep finding the net and to help Cove in any way I can.”
