Following the weekend’s 3-1 win over Queen of the South the club is on the verge of reaching another milestone; 400 goals scored in all competitions since we joined the SPFL in 2019.
We currently sit on 398, 319 of which have come in league matches, ahead of Tuesday’s meeting with Kelty Hearts.
Mitch Megginson has contributed a quarter of those, and he has a personal landmark to chase, currently sitting on 99 league and cup goals during that time.
Blair Yule and Adam Emslie each got their ninth goals for the club in the win over Queens, both now looking to join the select band who have reached double figures in our SPFL era. Only nine players have previously done so.
Saturday’s game also threw up a few appearance stats.
Connor Scully, Mikey Doyle and Ryan Harrington all maintained their ever-present status for the season, having started each of our thirty-five games to date, while Connor and Mikey extended their runs of successive starts to 88 and 51 respectively.
Illness prevented Nick Suman from playing his 50th game for Cove Rangers, something he will be keen to rectify in the coming days, while Myles Gaffney is on target to set a new record for substitute appearances. Kyle Connell currently leads the way, coming on from the bench twenty-seven times last season. Myles is sitting on twenty-four with at least nine games remaining.
